BLUE CROSS OF NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA (BCNEPA) TO HIGHMARK CONVERSION UPDATE

 

Upon renewal, all members migrating from BCNEPA to Highmark will receive new ID cards, even if there haven't been changes to their coverage options. Unfortunately, with the volume of ID cards we need to print and mail for Jan. renewals, we anticipate a slight delay in getting ID cards to our members, your clients. Please assure your clients that their coverage is effective Jan. 1, 2016, but ID cards may arrive after this date.

 

If any members need to receive health care services or get a prescription drugs before they receive their new ID cards, they can call Member Services at the following phone numbers:

  • Members with BlueCare HMO or BlueCare HMO Plus coverage should call 1-800-822-8753. This is their current Member Services phone number and does not represent a change for these members. This number will also appear on their new ID card.
  • Members with any other Highmark coverage should call 1-800-241-5704. This is the new Member Services phone number that will appear on their new ID card.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2016, members can also access a temporary ID card from their new member website, www.highmarkbcbs.com . They'll need to register, which only takes a few minutes, and they can use their Social Security Number when asked for their Member ID. Once, registered, members simply go to Your Account, Account Settings and View ID Card. They can then print or fax their new ID card to their provider.
