Important reminder about your client's subsidy eligibility and health plan coverage for 2016

In October, we sent communications to you and our members explaining their health plan options for 2016 and the importance of updating their Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC). CMS is re-determining subsidy eligibility for all on-exchange membership in 2016 and this may cause some members APTC to change from what they received in 2015 or be zeroed out. 

We will mail a letter to impacted Aetna and CoventryOne members that includes their total monthly premium, monthly APTC and monthly payment for 2016. This letter supersedes any previous estimate that they might have received from us in October or November. 

In addition, members who received a subsidy in 2015 but have been determined to be ineligible for APTC in 2016 will receive a pre-recorded member outreach call this month.  This follow-up will encourage them to complete an active enrollment through the Marketplace by December 15, 2015. Members must go to HealthCare.gov and update their income information on their 2016 Marketplace application by December 15, 2015 to make sure they get the correct subsidy amount and to avoid a potential gap in their health coverage.  

Also some members in select areas will receive a reminder via postcard and email in late November or early December regarding the December 15, 2015 deadline to make any plan changes or update their application on Healthcare.gov.
