IDENTITY PROTECTION FOR HIGHMARK MEMBERS

 

Earlier this year, in response to growing concerns about data security, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) announced that identity protection services would be available for all Blue members at no cost to the member.

 

Highmark is pleased to participate in this important initiative. We believe it will enhance our own ongoing efforts to protect the safety and security of our members in light of heightened cybersecurity risks across the country. Here's the information you need to know now about this new service:

  • AllClear ID will offer the member identity protection. After reviewing several vendors' capabilities and experience, Highmark selected AllClear ID to provide this service to our members. We believe that AllClear ID offers top quality customer service and comprehensive protection for our members.
  • If your clients want this protection for their Highmark members, they need to let us know. When the availability of this protection for Blue members was announced, BCBSA identified possible income tax implications. As a result, we will make this protection available to your clients' employees and their covered dependents, if applicable, only if they indicate they want it.
