Group Size Definition Change Per Legislative Order

On October 7, 2015, President Obama signed the Protecting Affordable Coverage for Employees (PACE) Act. This allows states the power to retain the original definition of small groups as 50 or fewer employees rather than incorporating the change for 2016 which would have defined small groups as employers having 100 or fewer employees.

• Pennsylvania will retain the current small group definition at 50 or fewer employees
• Capital is adjusting our 2016 product strategy accordingly by temporarily suspending January 2016 quoting and renewal activity for employers with 51 to 100 employees.
