MedStar Medicare Choice Opens Online Product Training and Testing

Brokers can now access MedStar Medicare Choice's 2016 online product training. Once training is complete, the online product test is also available. The completion of the online training and a passing test score are required in order for brokers to be authorized to sell MedStar Medicare Choice products during the 2016 Annual Election Period (AEP).

Online Training:

  • Click here to access the online training.
  • Review the training content and complete the Course Completion Certification at the end of the training. Brokers must attest that they have completed the training course in order for us to complete the appointment/certification process; this attestation is required in addition to a passing test score.

Online Test:

  • Once the Course Completion Certification has been submitted, the broker will be provided with information on how to access the online testing tool via an on-screen message and via e-mail.
  • At the completion of the test, brokers will receive a pass/fail score. Scores are shared automatically with MedStar.
  • Brokers have a total of three attempts to receive a passing test score of 85% or greater. Brokers who do not pass the test after three attempts should contact their FMO to discuss next steps.

Important Reminders:

  • The online training and test are only one of the requirements for appointment. Brokers should contact their FMO to learn more about the other requirements and to submit the following (if they have not already done so):
  1. Proof of errors and omissions (E & O) insurance
  2. Current-year certification from either AHIP, Gorman, or Pinpoint
  3. Signed Code of Conduct Acknowledgment
  4. Signed Brand/Marketing Acknowledgment
  5. Signed Broker Appointment/Recertification Application
  • MedStar Medicare Choice is requiring dual licensure for Medicare Advantage brokers for 2016, click here to learn more.
  • Once a broker's 2016 appointment/certification is complete, MedStar Medicare Choice will send a confirmation e-mail and will include the broker's 2016 Agent Writing Number (AWN).
  • Brokers cannot market, solicit, or sell 2016 MedStar Medicare Choice products until an AWN is provided and only in accordance with the annual enrollment guidelines established by CMS.
