 UPMC Summer/Fall Incentive 

Triple Play!

 

 

Now is the time to concentrate on getting those 51-100 employer groups in the door before 2016 with the UPMC Health Plan Triple Play and offer your clients a two year rate guarantee.


 
Effective dates: August 1-December 1

  1. Sell an employer group in the 51-100 market segment and receive up to $50 per member!
  2. Receive an additional $500 per group by adding dental and vision coverage.
  3. Sell a 51-100 group with an October effective date to align with the Affordable Care Act and receive an additional $500 per group.
And to top it all, UPMC Health Plan will provide your client a two-year rate guarantee!*

THE DETAILS:

  • Employer groups in the 51-100 market segment qualify with an August-December 2015 effective date.
  • Group size is based upon total average employees from the preceding calendar year.
  • Groups with less than 50 members enrolled will receive a $25 per member bonus.
  • Groups with 50 or more members enrolled will receive a $50 per member bonus.
  • Example: Sell an employer group with 80 enrolled members in the 51-100 market segment. 80 members x $50 per member is a bonus of $4,000!
  • Add dental and vision and receive an extra $500 for a total of $4,500!
  • Reward/incentive will be paid based on initial enrollment count at effective date.
  • Groups with an August, September, or October 2015 effective date will receive a rate guarantee not to exceed 10 percent at renewal.
  • Groups with a November or December 2015 effective date are also eligible for the rate guarantee if they renew their plan in October 2016.

The incentive is paid to the writing producer/agency only.


 

Terms and Conditions:

  • Payment will be made within 90 days for all eligible effective dates. Determination and payment of earned rewards under this program is at the sole discretion of UPMC Health Plan.
  • UPMC Health Plan may, at its sole discretion, cancel, amend, terminate, or suspend this program at any time.
  • Program applies to new business only. Group must be full replacement to qualify.
  • Payment of any applicable earned rewards under this plan will be payable to the writing producer and paid through the general agency, if applicable.
  • To qualify for program rewards, groups must remain in force with UPMC Health Plan for at least 12 months from the effective date. Groups who terminate coverage after less than 12 months for any reason will not be eligible for program rewards. 
  • Only employer groups with 51-100 employees qualify.
  • UPMC Health Plan reserves the right to recoup any or all rewards paid as part of this program if it determines at any time that any program requirement is or was not satisfied. Recovery of paid rewards by UPMC Health Plan will be conducted by offsetting producer or agency commission payments, as applicable, unless other payment arrangements are made and agreed to in writing by UPMC Health Plan.
  • *Rate guarantee not to exceed 10 percent increase upon first renewal in 2016. Rate guarantee for 2016 will only be provided to the extent permitted by law or regulation.
  • **An "early renewal" or short plan year may not be appropriate for all groups. UPMC Health Plan expects producers working with groups who may be changing their plan year to collaborate with group tax and legal counsel in order to ensure that any plan year change is compliant with applicable law and regulation. UPMC Health Plan cannot make a determination about the permissiblility of changing the ERISA plan year for a given employer's group health plan.
