Companies facing "Cadillac" tax in 2018 changing their coverage
According to a survey of members of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, 62 percent of companies that would be hit by the excise or “Cadillac” tax have already taken action. Most report shifting toward higher deductible plans, reducing benefits or dropping high-cost plans altogether.
Other highlights include:
- Florida's Governor Rick Scott appointed nine Floridians to serve on the newly formed Commission on Healthcare and Hospital Funding.
- Lawmakers in Nebraska voted 27-12 to advance a bill that would legalize medical marijuana in the state.
- States are calling New Mexico to inquire about the state’s hybrid state-federal exchange with HealthCare.gov.
