Enhancements to ROAM and the Employer Portal 

Good morning.  Independence Blue Cross has provided us with information regarding enhancements to the Employer portal and to ROAM.  Please review this information below.

  
We are pleased to announce several exciting new enhancements to ROAM and the employer portal effective Monday, April 20. These enhancements will streamline processes and introduce new functionality to help you support your customers with Independence Blue Cross (Independence) business.


New ROAM functionality streamlines administrative changes
You are now able to make administrative changes on behalf of your customers directly through ROAM. We eliminated a paper form and several manual steps to make it easier for you to process change requests for faster turnaround times and to ensure that your customers' information is accurate. This new functionality is available to primary agents only - producing agents should direct all administrative changes to their primary agent.

To download an instructional guide to assist you with making Administrative Changes, go to the ROAM Resource Center, click on any of the links for Sales Tool Kits, and scroll to the Education section.

New employer portal enrollment guide for small groups
Within the next few days there will be a new step-by-step guide in the ROAM Resource Center to help you assist small group customers (2-50) with enrolling employees and their covered dependents through the employer portal. The guide outlines system nuances based on dependent age, such as enrolling in dental benefits and indicating tobacco status, and walks users through how to successfully complete enrollment.

Member PCPs can now be changed on the employer portal
We are pleased to announce that you and your customers can now change a member's primary care physician (PCP) directly through the employer portal. Simply log in to the employer portal at ibxpress.com, click on the Assist Employees tab, and choose the Change Primary Care Physician link. Use this How to Change a PCP instructional guide to assist you. Previously, this function could only be completed manually by contacting Independence.

Enhanced display for payment history and ancillary products
Two enhancements to the display functions on the employer portal will help you and your customers more easily manage billing and ancillary products:

  • Premium payments made by check and Automated Clearing House (ACH) will now be displayed in the Payment History view. Previously, only ACH payments made directly in eBill on the employer portal were displayed.
  • HMO/POS products will now display embedded ancillary products, standalone ancillary products, plus a combination of both based on the customer plan design.
