DIRECT PAY ON-EXCHANGE POLICIES CANCELLED FOR NON-PAYMENT COULD IMPACT COMMISSIONS

The Highmark Membership & Billing team has identified a significant number of individual policies that have been cancelled back to their original effective date because members have failed to submit their premium.

As a result, any General Agencies (GAs) who sold on-exchange plans to individuals who received a government subsidy, but did not pay their premium, will experience a retraction of that commission in the March payout, scheduled for the week of April 6, 2015.

This will only impact agencies who received commission from Highmark on sold Direct Pay policies where subsidy was received, but members did not pay the premium or discontinued payment for their portion of the premium.
