We are offering this invitation on behalf of the Pennsylvania Association of Health Underwriters (PAHU) and the Erie Chapter (NWPAHU). PAHU represents insurance agents and brokers who specialize in health insurance and employee benefits.

We will be hosting a panel conversation on Thursday, April 2nd at the UPMC Health Plan Conference Room in Erie. Invited to participate on the panel are the two State Senators from northwest PA as well as PA House members who sit on the Insurance or Health Committees.

Details: April 2, 2015 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.

Location: UPMC Health Plan Conference Room, 109 Boston Store Place, Erie, PA, 16501

Format: Informal conversation with insurance professionals moderated by PAHU Harrisburg Lobbyist Vince Phillips.

Topics: The panel will be provided with a list of topics that are important to insurance agents and brokers, including the following:

  • Reauthorization of the PA Health Care Cost Containment Council
  • Registration by ACA navigators, certified application counselors, and “assisters” with the PA Insurance Department and requirement that they complete a background check just as insurance producers do
  • Creation of a Long-Term Care Council by statute including broker representation
  • The proposed State Budget for FY 2015-16 and specifically on the proposed sales tax for professional services

Of course, we are sure that some on the panel will have additional issues to discuss such as a State Exchange should the Supreme Court rule against subsidies in a FFM.

There will be no charge for this event, and refreshments will be provided. We hope your schedule will allow you to participate. Seating will be limited to a maximum of 50. Please notify me by March 20, 2015 if you plan to attend. I can be contacted via email (steve@djbgroup.com) or cell phone (814/724-0914).

Thank you.
